Making Biomass Energy Fuel With A Pellet Machine Biomass is a form of energy not many people are familiar with, however it is the oldest form of energy we know. Biomass is wood, straw, grass, basically any material which we can grow and tern into energy some how. So obviously burning wood logs is a form of biomass energy, however it is a very basic form of wood biomass energy and has many negatives in combustion. For example burning logs on an open fire wastes much of the fuel due to poor combustion, and most of the heat generated is not captured for its main purpose which was probably heating or cooking. Today, we can no longer afford to be as wasteful with energy as we have been, and we must start to use our resources more responsibly. Biomass can be turned into liquid or gaseous fuels for energy purposes. However one of the easiest ways to use biomass is in a solid form, for example pellets. Pellets are a compressed form of biomass produced using a pellet mill and various other equipment. At PelHeat we focus on the education of pellet compression and combustion, below is a video of our biomass pellet boiler burning a variety of fuel pellets. As you can see from the video, there are many different forms of biomass energy fuel pellets made from wood and other less well used biomass materials. It's important to remember biomass energy is about more than simply wood. There is only so much wood resources available to us, and in certain areas there is literally no wood resources. Also, wood is not the fastest growing form of biomass energy, and deforestation must be avoided at all costs. Therefore using biomass energy resources such as hemp needs to be bigger priority. All of these other biomass materials can be processed into fuel pellets. Please click below for press videos. |
