However if the material is milled into a dust this will not perform well in the pellet press. Generally a consistent particle size of 4mm or 5mm is best. Secondly, moisture is very important. Too much or too little moisture and a quality pellet cannot form. The percentage of moisture that produces the best quality pellet does change depending on the size of pellet press and the specific raw material.
