Pellet Press, Mills And Machines Made In The UK When it comes to making pellets its about the raw material been prepared properly, and then using the right equipment operated properly. There are various pieces of equipment used to make pellets, however the central piece of equipment is the pellet press, also referred to as the pellet machine or pellet mill. The pellet press provides heat and compression to the raw material, and forces it through a die into pellet form. However how the material performs in the pellet press is partly down to the machine its self, however a lot of it comes down to the qualities of the raw material. Particle size is the first criteria that needs to be meet. The material needs to be reduced in size to a consistent particle size less than 6mm. However if the material is milled into a dust this will not perform well in the pellet press. Generally a consistent particle size of 4mm or 5mm is best. Secondly, moisture is very important. Too much or too little moisture and a quality pellet cannot form. The percentage of moisture that produces the best quality pellet does change depending on the size of pellet press and the specific raw material. However in general around 15% produces the best results. Many different raw materials can be processed in the pellet press. If you are interested in a pellet press, we can help you out. We can aid you with pellet production on a very small scale and a very large scale. The smallest pellet press can be operated from within your home from a domestic power supply. We also offer small scale automated pellet plants and large scale modular pellet plants. These solutions can be used to produce wood pellets and others. For those who wish to make pellets on a very small scale we have our Mini Pellet Mill. You can see videos of this machine below. |
