Finding Quality Automated Animal Feed UK Pellet Mills If you have read some of the other pages on the website you will have read about most Chinese pellet mills been cheap animal feed pellet mills resold as wood pellets mill. However the truth is the Chinese pellet mills and pellets are not that suitable for automated animal feed production either. Automation is the key word, and its key because it relates to profits. In China and other developing countries where labour and the hourly wage it cheap automation is not that crucial. However here in the UK, the EU and other western countries it is simply not economical to have multiple employees operating a pellet plant producing a few hundred kilos an hour. Therefore to make a profit you need to keep the operations of the plant down to the lowest labour possible, just one operator. Our small pellet plants are now used for producing fuel pellets, however they started as animal feed pellet mills and pellet plants. The design on the equipment has been in use for over 50 years. All the components are made here in the UK, and we therefore have quality control over all the components. To make the pellet plant as automated as possible we wire up all the equipment through a central master control panel. That's the size reduction equipment such as the hammer mill, the augers, conveyors, pellet mill etc everything. On the control panel there is a diagram of the plant, with a light associated to each piece of equipment. If for some reasons there is an issue or the raw material bin in simply empty, the control panel will alter the operator. What this also means is that the operator does not need to constantly supervise the plant, and can be doing other tasks. Once the issue has been address its simply a case of resetting the plant and the process will continue. Our pellet mills are based on a horizontal ring die design. This means electrical consumption is reduced compared to the flat die design. It also means die and roller life is increased. Our pellet mills were the first to adopt a horizontal die as apposed to the vertical die. This means feed distribution is even. |
