What Equipment Goes Into A Quality Wood Pellet Plant? Traditionally designed wood pellet plants are very complex. The equipment used in the wood pellet plant could be sourced from several different manufacturers, and making sure all the equipment can work together properly can cause several issues. Also, with traditional pellet plants, its quite difficult to increase capacity without a major re-design of the whole pellet plant. With these complications, the costs associated with installing a complete pellet plant have always been higher than necessary. However, the modular pellet plant has corrected these issues. The modular pellet plant has simplified the design and construction of the whole pellet plant, to reduce costs and also make installing a pellet plant a much quicker and easier process. You can see an example of a complete modular wood pellet plant below.
Each module is constructed for a specific part of the process of the plant. For instance, there is a module which contains a 2 ton per hour pellet mill along with a pellet cooler specifically rated to meet the demands of the 2 ton per hour pellet mill. A conventional drying system which is usually positioned externally will provide the dried feedstock for the pellet plant. As each pellet mill module produces 2 tons per hour, it is very easy to scale up the pellet plant, or do so in the future as demand justifies it. Expanding a modular pellet plant is much easier and cheaper than expanding a traditional pellet plant. Above the pellet mill modules sits the suction and cyclone separation system in its own module.
