Making Wood Pellets For Heating With A Pellet Mill Really, since oil and gas became popular as heating solutions, using solid fuel such as wood logs or coal completely fell out of fashion. The reasons were simple, using solid fuels created more work, and created more mess. Also at the time oil and gas was so comparably cheap, many consumers moved over to oil and gas as it simply looked the best option from all sides. Well times have certainly changed over the last 50 to 60 years, and no one would describe gas and oil as cheap heating options. The fact is its expensive, and will continue to be more expensive into the future. Therefore many consumers are finding it hard to heat their homes and business. Today, there is a niche market of home owners and alike using contemporary and traditional designs of log stoves to provide an additional source of heat. However, very rarely are these solutions used as the sole heating source. Again for the same reasons, work and mess. However, there are some solid fuel heating solutions which don't require as much work or create as much mess, and those are pellet fuel systems. As you can see from the video above, pellet fuel is unlike any coal or log based systems. Also some pellet fuel systems, like the one you can see in the video, can use a wide variety of biomass materials as their source of fuel. In those cases the fuel can be produced 100% locally, providing local jobs and cheap local fuel. At PelHeat, we help to educate people on how to make pellets, and the equipment used to burn them. Making pellets is a true skill, and requires the right equipment and the right knowledge of the process.
