Wood Pellets Production Using Pellet Mills And Plants

Teaching people how to make wood pellets is what we do here at PelHeat most of the time.

Wood pellets is an area that many people for small scale and large scale production are interested in. With the right knowledge and equipment, it is possible to produce wood pellets from home all the way up to large industrial facilities. And while the process it's self remains fairly similar, the scale of automation and the equipment used obviously changes. However, its not all about wood pellets, many other biomass materials can also be compressed into pellets in a pellet mill. So when it comes to wood pellets production, what is the process and the main equipment used? Well initially, you need to find a source of wood which is suitable. Too many people decide they want to starting making wood pellets, without first sourcing a sufficient supply of wood. So what is a suitable supply of wood? Well it has to be fairly consistent and available when you need it for production. Also, do not be tempted to use painted, varnished or contaminated wood as this is very dangerous to burn due to the emissions generated. The wood then needs to go through some form of initial size reduction. This is generally done with a chipper and then final size reduction is carried out with a hammer mill. The wood particles then need to be dried down to a suitable moisture content. Once dried, the wood particles are then ready for the pellet mill. In the pellet mill the wood particles are compressed through a die to form solid dense wood pellets for fuel. We help our customers with wood pellets production solutions of all sizes, from a few hundred kilos per hour up to several tons per hour. We only provide the best equipment, please see below.
